Knoxville Sellers – 5 Painful Realities All Sellers Experience

For Knoxville sellers, it can be a real pain to sell you Knoxville home. Dealing with showings, waiting for the right offer, and dealing with the uncertainty, can be stressful and painful.

If you’re in the process of selling your Knoxville home, here are 5 painful realities all sellers experience and how to cope with them during the selling process.

Painful Reality #1 – Showings Are Not Fun

Unfortunately, there is no selling your Knoxville home without dealing with showings. It can be stressful dealing with last minute showings and constantly having to keep your home clean during the process.

In addition, it can be a pain to have complete strangers constantly parading through you home, some of which do not adhere to basic showing etiquette.

How To Cope: There’s no way to sell your house without dealing with some showings. You can hope that your home will sell quickly, especially since the Knoxville market has transitioned back to a seller’s market. In order to make showings more bearable, create a cleaning routine to help keep your Knoxville home clean and stick to it. This will make it easier for you to deal with last minute showings.

Painful Reality #2 – The Pain Behind No Offers/Showings

When you put your Knoxville home on the market, you may have had dreams that your Knoxville home would sell quickly, and maybe even on the first showing.

Unfortunately, that reality doesn’t always come true. After your home as been on the market for days or weeks with no offers or no showings, you will become inevitably frustrated with the situation and are left wondering why your fabulous Knoxville home for sale hasn’t sold.

How To Cope: If your home has experienced a drought of showings or no offers, it’s time to talk with your realtor. An honest look and the price and condition of your home is probably necessary to see what the issue is. It can be painful to have to do this, but if you want to sell your home, you need to deal with the reality of the situation.

Painful Reality #3 – Showing Feedback Can Be Painful

Showing feedback from buyers, can be both helpful and altogether frustrating. As a seller, it can sometimes be hard to hear what a buyer doesn’t like about your home, particularly if it feels like the commentary is unfounded and coming from someone who is clueless (i.e. nothing worst than hearing your home is overpriced after dropping the price).

Still, feedback from buyer can be a useful tool to see what other buyers are thinking about your home,.

How To Cope: When you put your home on the market, it’s important to step back and not take things personally. This can be hard to do because you’re selling a place that is your home and that you’ve come to love. You will get some feedback and some not so helpful feedback, take it in stride and focus on getting your house sold.

Painful Reality #4 – Price Drops Are Tough

When you first list your house, you may feel warm and fuzzy about the price that you’re putting it on the market.

Then, your house doesn’t sell right away and you get very few showings. At that point, you and your realtor re-evaluate the price and decide to do a price drop. It hurts to think of all the money you’re losing on your bottom line. And, you’re left wondering if this price drop will make a difference, or if you’ll have to to it again.

How To Cope: When you list your home, be sure to price it competitively from the start. In the current market, homes that are priced competitively tend to be selling at list price. By doing this from the start, you will be hopefully preventing any price drops and helping your home sell quickly.

Painful Reality #5 – The Moment Of Doubt

At some point in time when you sell your Knoxville home, you’ll most likely have a moment of self-doubt about selling your Knoxville home.

After dealing with the stress of putting your Knoxville home on the market or the pain of dealing with showings, you may look around your house and wonder why you’re selling in the first place.

How To Cope: Selling your home is stressful. But, there was a very good reason you decided to sell your home in the first place. It’s important to keep your mind focused on the end goal of selling your house and moving on to something better.
