Built in 1962, the Ice Chalet is a special place for generations of Knoxvillians. You can learn ice skating, hockey, and curling. 

Ice Chalet is also the home of Robert Unger and Larry La Borde’s skating school. You can find the best instructors here whether you’re learning for recreation or as a sport. Hike at Ten Mile Creek Greenway

Find solitude early in the morning at Ten Mile Creek Greenway. It features an easy 5.1 km trail for hiking, running, and cycling. There are several tunnels located in Gallaher, Walker Springs, and I-40. 

They allow dogs on a leash and have ample parking. The trail takes about an hour to complete.

Winter Sports At Ober Gatlinburg

Ober Gatlinburg is a ski resort and amusement park one hour away from West Knoxville. Both kids and adults can try winter activities like snow tubing, skiing, and snowboarding. They also have a play area called Cubbies Snow Zone for little children. Apart from this, you can ride the Aerial Tramway for a scenic view of the Smokies. You can also enjoy shopping, ice skating, and various other activities.

Ski at Cataloochee Ski Area

Experience a thrilling adventure as you ski down the Cataloochee Ski Area’s slopes and trails. The ski resort is in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, a two-hour drive from West Knoxville.
